The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has begun preparing a proposal for providing up to 10 year tax exemption for the development of tourism destinations or the construction of four-star hotels in integrated tourism zones (ITZ).
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Tourism and Culture Authority has requested a response from the provincial Finance Ministry.
According to sources, the board of the KP decided to make attractive proposals to promote tourism in the province.
At a meeting on Wednesday, the government proposed that if an investor gets a tax exemption, he will build a tourist center in the ITZ zone designated by the government.
Similarly, government should consider providing tax breaks to investors even if they build a 4 or 5-star international-class hotel in these areas, the meeting said.
