Pakistan’s Textile exports in September-2021 rose by 26 percent to $ 1.503 billion, according to the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA).
The annual growth in textile exports was 29% in the first two months of 2021-22 compared to the corresponding period last year. In August, exports rose 45 percent to $ 1.5 billion from August-2020.
Cumulative Textile exports increased 24 percent to $ 15.5 billion in fiscal year 2021 from $ 12.5 billion in 2020. With 70 percent of Pakistan’s textile exports in value added, the industry expects exports in the fiscal year to be $ 20.5 billion.
The textile export sector has benefited from provision of low rate electricity and Gas over the past two years. The package has been extended for the current financial year. The textile sector also attracted $5 billion investment under low rate TERF loan scheme provided by SBP.
