Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare (P&SHC) Secretary Captain (r) Muhammad Usman has announced that Provincial government is working to make COVID Vaccine available by March 2021.
As per the sources, Federal is currently preparing the first phase of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign, and in this context, the federal government has sought details of frontline health workers from all the provincial governments. Federal Government has also sought details of the hospital staff allocated for coronavirus treatment.
Hence by March-2021, the staff of public and private Covid-19 wards will be vaccinated across the country.
Moreover, the Federal Government has also sought suggestions for distribution of Covid-19 vaccination in the campaign.
Government has decided that In the first, more than 500,000 health workers will be vaccinated while the process of vaccination of the remaining health workers will be completed later on.
Moreover, healthcare workers will be immunised with two different Covid-19 vaccines one from Sinopharm Group and other from Pfizer.
As per official statistics, around 137,000 cases of coronavirus were reported in Punjab while more than 3900 patients died and 122,000 patients recovered.
