personal information of millions of telecommunication Users in Pakistan has allegedly been hacked by a lone international hacker and put up for sale. The data is available for five telecommunication companies namely Jazz, Telenor, Ufone, Zong and Warid (Now part of Jazz). Total Consumer base of these companies stand roughly near 500 million.
The hacker is asking for $2,000 in Cryptocurrencies for sale of the data.

The hacker claims the records are up to date till March 2020. Also, for review, one sample file was distributed for each operator. It contains information such as subscriber names, mobile phone numbers, CNIC numbers, and addresses.
Representatives of the five operators vehemently denied the hacker’s allegations, adding that their preliminary investigation confirmed that there had been no breach of customer security.
However, Personal record of Telecommunication Companies in Pakistan have been made public in past as well. With large customer database, Telecom companies have always remained on the radar of Hackers.
